Operational Planner (Sustaining Team)

About the role

The Operational Planner (Sustaining Team) is responsible for designing, executing, and continuously improving operational planning and logistics processes that support Customer Service operations at customer sites. Working independently yet closely with Customer Service, Warehousing, Logistics, IT, and external vendors, the planner translates demand and constraints into actionable material plans.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and forecast material demand, converting it into operational plans for material delivery and availability.
• Develop and maintain plans that consider resources, local constraints, infrastructure and regional requirements.
• Execute plans to ensure timely movement of materials between local warehouses and customer sites.
• Coordinate order management in SAP, handling emergency and urgent orders, escalations and follow‑ups.
• Serve as primary contact for the local Customer Service organization on logistics topics and manage relationships with external logistics providers and vendors.
• Monitor daily operations, resolve material availability issues, perform root‑cause analysis and drive preventive actions.
• Collect and analyse data for reporting, performance monitoring and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Utilise planning tools such as SAP, Excel, Power BI and Spotfire, and lead medium‑sized improvement projects using Lean/A3 methods.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply‑chain processes.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across functions.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
