Mechanical Product Designer – Power Tech

About the role

Ubiquiti is looking for a Mechanical Product Designer to lead the development of power‑tech products from concept through mass production. The role works independently with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment, delivering innovative networking hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Create and evaluate new product concepts for power‑tech devices.
• Select materials, components and manufacturing processes, conducting competitive analysis of parts, cost and mechanisms.
• Produce 3D models, engineering drawings and perform tolerance and statistical analysis.
• Troubleshoot design, tooling and production issues, and run tests and engineering analyses.
• Explore new materials, technologies and manufacturing methods, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as UL and IEC.

Required profile

• Interest in mechanical engineering within the networking industry.
• Creative, out‑of‑the‑box thinking and strong self‑motivation to learn.
• Solid understanding of mechanics, material science, tooling and manufacturing.
• Excellent root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience in mass production of plastic or sheet‑metal parts.
• Background in industrial and consumer power product design, including AI‑related devices.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools.
• Knowledge of UL and IEC safety standards.
