Maintenance Engineer – ME

About the role

Air Products is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (ME) to ensure the reliability and safety of mechanical equipment across its plant facilities. The role involves both scheduled and emergency maintenance, supporting 24/7 operations and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Air Products and local safety, health, and environmental standards, including safety training and meetings.
• Monitor serviceability of plant equipment, maintaining housekeeping and environmental requirements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot rotation and static mechanical equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, cryogenic pumps, heater exchangers, pipelines, and centrifugal expanders.
• Perform preventive maintenance and execute SAP PM01‑03 tasks, documenting work in ERP/SAP systems.
• Coordinate contractor activities to guarantee safety, quality, and reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, weekly time entries, and support root‑cause investigations for equipment reliability.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects and idea tracking.

Required profile

• Technical college or university degree in Mechanical or Machinery Engineering.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a gas, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with plant mechanical equipment and ability to maintain accurate equipment history records.

Required skills

• Knowledge of compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating) and pumps (including cryogenic).
• Experience with heater exchangers, pipelines, and centrifugal expanders.
• Proficiency in SAP PM modules and ERP documentation.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance techniques.
