Logistic Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Logistic Specialist to support its global supply chain operations. The role will ensure smooth planning, transportation, and storage of equipment and components, helping the company deliver cutting‑edge rail solutions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute logistic plans to internal stakeholders and external clients for shipment authorisation, factory acceptance tests, joint inspections and invoicing.
• Plan and coordinate shipments across all transport modes, select carriers and manage schedules to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Conduct inbound inspections, oversee client joint inspections and ensure compliance with supply‑chain requirements.
• Manage inventory and warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, distributing products, space coordination and cycle counts.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation, ensuring adherence to local and international customs regulations.
• Monitor performance data, analyse trends and use logistics software to identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Perform administrative tasks such as order entry, invoice handling and service entry sheet creation, and provide training support to team members.
• Maintain security of goods in storage and transit, develop contingency plans for disruptions, and manage return merchandise authorisations (RMA) for faulty equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, supply‑chain or transportation management.
• Strong understanding of customs compliance and documentation requirements.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Attention to detail and capability to analyse data for process improvement.
