Lead Counsel 2 – Vice President (Legal)

About the role
The Lead Counsel 2 – Vice President provides senior legal counsel and strategic guidance to Citi's businesses and functions in Taiwan. Reporting to the Country General Counsel Group Manager, this role ensures that legal, regulatory and reputational risks are identified and managed across a broad range of banking activities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive legal advice and transactional support to product teams (Markets, Services, Investment Banking) and client coverage teams (FI, corporate and commercial banking) in Taiwan.
- Collaborate with the Country Counsel team to advise Country Business Management on legal, control and regulatory matters affecting Citi’s entities.
- Support strategic initiatives by interpreting local laws, regulations and industry practices, and advising senior business leaders.
- Coordinate internal and external legal resources to ensure cost‑effective delivery of legal services.
- Monitor key legal and regulatory developments and keep country management informed of significant changes.
- Maintain strong relationships with local regulators and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Required profile
- Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in banking or financial services law.
- Deep understanding of Taiwanese legal and regulatory frameworks affecting financial institutions.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, business‑oriented legal solutions and influence strategic decisions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with senior business leaders and regulators.
