Hardware Support Technician – Supervisor

About the role

The Hardware Support Technician – Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and supporting all IT hardware assets across the organization. The role combines hands‑on technical work with supervision of a small team to ensure equipment operates reliably and end‑users receive timely assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners and other peripheral devices.
• Diagnose and repair hardware failures; document incidents and actions taken.
• Monitor PC performance, generate statistics and produce regular performance reports.
• Develop and maintain procedures for logging, reporting and statistical monitoring of hardware.
• Assist in capacity planning and long‑term strategy for future hardware needs.
• Research and write technical specifications for procurement of PCs, networking hardware and related products.
• Provide on‑site analysis and resolution of complex hardware issues, including off‑site repair coordination.
• Supervise subordinates, assign tasks, check work regularly and maintain schedules.
• Deliver training and support to end‑users on computer operation and related issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven ability to supervise a small team, assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and customer‑service orientation.
