Global Forwarding Agent – Ocean

About the role

C.H. Robinson is seeking a detail‑oriented Global Forwarding Agent to serve as the primary contact for customers managing the lifecycle of ocean freight shipments. You will work closely with clients from order issuance through delivery, ensuring smooth operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and execute international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology from purchase order to cargo delivery.
• Coordinate shipment tasks to meet customer SOPs, including booking approvals, pre‑alerts, governmental filings, delivery execution, and invoicing.
• Collaborate with international team members and third‑party agents to deliver efficient service and resolve issues.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing timely responses and follow‑up on issue resolution.
• Provide reporting and documentation support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in customer business reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in global forwarding or ocean freight.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
