Foreign Exchange/Money Market (Interbank) Operations Officer

About the role

The Foreign Exchange/Money Market (Interbank) Operations Officer will support HSBC's Global Markets business by managing the post‑trade lifecycle across FX, money‑market and related products. The role involves daily processing, settlement, cash‑flow projection and coordination with both internal teams and external counterparties.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily trades, confirm and settle transactions, and project cash‑flows for nostro funding management.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Produce regulatory, performance and control metric reports.
• Assist internal and external audits and perform end‑of‑day trade population checks.
• Maintain system data, manage off‑shoring activities, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct GL reconciliation, static data maintenance, and margin‑event monitoring.
• Prepare management reports and support project implementation for system automation and process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related analytical field.
• Relevant experience in financial services, preferably in treasury settlement or operations.
• Strong issue‑resolution and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and interact effectively at all organisational levels.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency and solid MS Office skills.
• Experience identifying operational risk gaps and designing mitigation controls.
