Director, Business Management

About the role

The Director Business Management provides strategic direction for the Business Management team, acting as the primary interface between sales and the business unit. This senior leader is accountable for forecasting, revenue, margin, market‑share targets and pricing strategy while driving customer‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the Business Management team and manage managers across multiple customers and regions.
• Serve as the primary interface between sales and the business unit, overseeing forecasting, bookings, revenue and gross‑margin commitments.
• Formulate and drive division strategy for assigned accounts and regions, targeting specific market‑share goals.
• Lead pricing strategy, negotiate complex deals, and collaborate with sales and other business units to close orders.
• Direct preparation and strategy for Customer Technical Review Meetings and present business results to BU management.
• Participate in the Large Order Committee, providing pricing, margin and scorecard details.
• Partner with BU/Division GMs to manage customer status and strategy, acting as the main point of contact for senior customer interactions.
• Manage and develop managers and employees within the Business Management organization, overseeing multiple projects and programs.

• Demonstrates broad understanding of systems, theories and practices across business management functions.
• Applies extensive industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance.
• Leads through subordinate managers, executing segment/functional business plans and contributing to strategy development.
• Resolves highly complex business problems using advanced analytical judgment.
• Influences senior executives and external stakeholders, negotiating and presenting strategic recommendations.
