Construction Controls Manager

About the role

Micron Technology is building a major multi-billion-dollar construction program and its Finance - Global Construction Controller team is looking for a Construction Controls Manager to support regional (Japan/North Asia) construction projects. The role drives financial construction controls across a regional portfolio, analyzing construction budgets and spending so that investments meet corporate targets and cash flow needs.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key liaison between Finance and construction teams and partner with the global team of regional Construction Controllers
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and attend construction project meetings to gather real-time views of progress, risks and opportunities
• Reduce risk and improve cost, schedule and cashflow
• Generate and maintain project dashboards on construction cost, schedule, cashflow and risk, and report actual and forecast values accurately while explaining variances
• Build accurate baseline and forecasted costs with construction teams, validate estimates and maintain historical data on costs, schedules and scope
• Improve capital allocation compliance (initial approvals and change management) and develop budget walks and lessons learned
• Use and align construction and capital finance tools (Procore, SAP, Snowflake)
• Ensure adherence to Micron construction processes across jurisdictions, participate in control improvement efforts and analyze project data to identify risks and opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field
• Experience in project controls, quantity surveying or financial management focused on construction
• Experience overseeing financial expenditure on large capital programs in manufacturing, semiconductor or high-tech industries
• Experience in or exposure to finance, accounting or financial controlling
• Japanese language skills and willingness to travel occasionally to Hiroshima are strong pluses

Required skills

• Capital project controls or quantity surveying (estimating, scheduling, cost control, earned value, risk management)
• Proficiency in analytical and data visualization tools
• Demonstrated use of AI tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement in English
