Commodity Management Consultant

About the role

The Commodity Management Consultant is responsible for overseeing high‑value commodities on a global or regional scale, developing procurement strategies, and ensuring cost‑effective sourcing while maintaining supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strategic responsibility for high‑dollar commodities, including price/value determination and contract negotiations.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies covering competitive analysis, technology direction, supplier selection, and pricing.
• Act as the primary interface with suppliers, managing relationships, performance reviews, and business development initiatives.
• Source products and services to guarantee continuity of supply while delivering the lowest‑cost solutions.
• Lead corporate negotiation teams and manage material commitment processes, including BOM analysis and pricing.
• Provide cost‑analysis reporting to senior management and guide site‑level performance.
• Support team development through recruitment, training, and mentorship of new employees.
• Negotiate high‑impact commodity contracts, develop negotiation strategies, and communicate consistent messages to suppliers.
• Manage global commodity negotiation processes, ensuring accurate forecasting, pricing accuracy, and data flow for market fluctuations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement or commodity management initiatives at a senior level.
• Strong ability to influence cross‑functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior executives of multinational companies.
• Accountability for quality of work delivered by external suppliers.
• Capability to lead project teams or work groups with minimal supervision.
