Clinical Sales Director

About the role

The Clinical Sales Director leads the development and growth of da Vinci surgical programs within an assigned territory. This senior position is responsible for shaping short‑ and long‑term strategies, managing Clinical Sales Managers, and expanding the use of Intuitive’s robotic‑assisted surgery technology.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse territories, set sales quota goals and revenue expectations to meet market objectives.
• Forecast sales, manage quarterly and annual quota targets and align with CSM/SSM for performance reviews.
• Oversee the sales process for da Vinci Surgical Systems, including new hospital installations and upgrades.
• Develop and execute sales activities that exceed organizational goals and drive clinical and product adoption.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key decision‑makers in surgery and hospital management.
• Lead, hire, train and develop the Clinical Sales Managers and broader sales team.
• Promote Intuitive’s culture and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Drive Salesforce (SFDC) utilization across the team and support peer‑to‑peer events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing sales teams and territory strategies within the healthcare or medical‑device sector.
• Demonstrated ability to forecast sales, manage budgets and achieve quota targets.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with senior hospital and surgical leaders.
• Leadership capability to hire, train and develop sales personnel.
