Business Development Manager – Power & Energy (Taiwan)

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Business Development professional to drive growth in Taiwan’s power grid, renewables, industrial and transportation sectors. You will act as a market expert, shaping strategies that align with global objectives while delivering best‑in‑class solutions to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research potential clients and new market opportunities across energy‑related sectors in Taiwan.
• Develop and implement strategic business development plans that support Hitachi Energy’s regional and global goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, industry associations and government agencies.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals and tender responses.
• Collaborate with internal sales, technical, legal and finance teams to ensure coordinated business development efforts.
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape and regulatory changes to spot threats and opportunities.
• Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs, providing regular reports on pipeline status and market insights.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in business development, sales or account management within power, energy, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven track record of identifying, developing and closing complex, high‑value deals.
• Deep understanding of the Taiwanese energy market, including regulatory frameworks, key players and emerging trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
