Back End Developer – Python Automation & Video Streaming

About the role

We are looking for a Back End Developer to design, build, and maintain Python‑based automation testing frameworks for video‑streaming products. The role is based onsite at the Google Hsin‑tien office in Banqiao, Taiwan, and involves close collaboration with hardware partners and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable Python automation testing frameworks.
• Validate new software/firmware releases on target devices using automated test suites.
• Build and optimise multiprocessing or distributed services for performance and scalability.
• Integrate golden devices from hardware partners into the test environment.
• Analyse and triage video‑streaming issues, including service debugging.
• Implement and manage concurrent processing with Python multithreading/multiprocessing.
• Create automated test pipelines with clear reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or Engineer in Test.
• Strong understanding of concurrent programming in Python.
• Hands‑on experience building or deploying automation testing infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux command‑line environments.
• Familiarity with video‑streaming systems and related debugging.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB), and in‑memory stores (Redis).
