Substrates Supply Chain Commodity Manager

About the role

This role is a critical part of NVIDIA product development process and is responsible for formulating, communicating and carrying out the substrates commodity sourcing strategy for raw materials that go into substrates fabrication. The candidate must have solid knowledge of the substrates supply chain and industry, be able to perform market analysis and triangulate with industry reports, and establish strong internal relationships with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze market research data from external sources and connect data with industry knowledge.
• Build cross‑functional alignment with internal teams (engineering, planning) to identify commodity sourcing strategies.
• Develop and handle supplier relationships and conduct business reviews that improve supplier value, performance, and account investments.
• Accountable for component supply assurance and inventory flexibility programs that increase flexibility and minimize liabilities.
• Deliver a supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies and maintain data integrity.
• Resolve impediments to production readiness and support execution during production.
• Enable early supplier involvement to bring innovation for SOL project schedules.
• Concentrated effort to achieve industry‑leading time‑to‑market, establishing supplier selection criteria and alternative suppliers.

Required profile

• BS in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years experience in semiconductor or substrates technical and/or supply chain teams.
• Deep understanding of substrates and associated materials technology, market, manufacturing process, cost drivers and supply landscape.
• Ability to innovate in strategic sourcing, supplier relations, and performance measurement.
• Strong analytical skills such as industry competition analysis and supply/demand analysis.
• Excellent negotiation and leadership skills in supplier management; communication and influencing skills with supply‑base executives.
• High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a collaborative environment.
• Technical experience complementing strong program management skills is a plus.
