Strategic Sourcing Buyer

About the role

The Strategic Sourcing Buyer leads the development and execution of long‑term sourcing strategies for direct procurement across Nova divisions in low‑cost regions. The role focuses on supplier identification, qualification, market analysis, and commercial negotiations, while also supporting indirect procurement activities in the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, including supplier scouting, benchmarking, and qualification in low‑cost regions.
• Manage RFx processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP), evaluate suppliers, and provide sourcing recommendations based on cost, quality, capacity, risk, and strategic fit.
• Partner with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and supply‑chain teams to understand current and future sourcing needs, support new programs and localization initiatives.
• Lead commercial negotiations and establish sourcing agreements that secure optimal pricing, terms, and long‑term value.
• Conduct market research and risk assessments to identify potential disruptions, geopolitical impacts, and opportunities for supply diversification.
• Ensure smooth transition of awarded suppliers to procurement teams, including documentation and handover.
• Support indirect procurement activities in the AP region, collaborating with local procurement functions on supplier selection and negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or commodity management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in supplier scouting, qualification, RFx management and supplier selection.
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams.
• Knowledge of global supply markets, especially low‑cost sourcing regions.
