Sr. Director, Supplier Quality Engineering

About the role

Marvell is hiring a Senior Director, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) for its global Quality organization, reporting to the SVP of Quality. The role owns the end-to-end supplier quality structure, from advanced-node foundry process quality through OSAT performance, and leads a globally distributed SQE team while acting as the executive quality interface to strategic suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global SQE strategy, roadmap and operating model, and partner with business units, supply chain, procurement and engineering to embed quality from design inception through mass production.
• Lead regular executive-level quality business reviews with suppliers and champion continuous improvement using Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen and AI/ML-based quality analytics.
• Own the strategic quality relationship with foundry partners at advanced nodes (5nm, 3nm, 2nm and beyond), including process qualification, characterization, excursion management, SPC control, PCN management and quality audits.
• Oversee OSAT supplier quality across global hubs, including quality agreements, scorecards, audits under ISO 9001, VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949, MRB governance and CIPs.
• Lead the global supplier quality organization for optical module suppliers, including supplier selection, qualification, APQP, PFMEA, control plans and change management.
• Build and grow a globally distributed SQE team across Taiwan, the US, Singapore, Korea and other regions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Materials, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline; Master's or PhD preferred.
• 18+ years of progressive experience in semiconductor quality, with at least 10 years in leadership roles of increasing scope.
• Demonstrated experience as an executive quality interface to major suppliers.
• Proven experience leading supplier quality audits and formal issue resolution such as 8D.

Required skills

• Advanced foundry quality, yield management and process control.
• Hands-on OSAT supplier quality experience and strong knowledge of 2.5D/3D IC (CoWoS, SoIC), flip chip and heterogeneous integration.
• Mastery of quality tools: FMEA/PFMEA, SPC, DOE, MSA, Control Plans, 8D and CAPA.
• Knowledge of failure analysis techniques (CSAM, SEM/TEM, FIB, curve tracing).
