Senior Medical Science Liaison – Aesthetics

About the role

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Aesthetics will serve as a scientific bridge between AbbVie and key external experts, thought leaders, and internal stakeholders. This role focuses on building a strong medical presence in aesthetic clinics, supporting research, education, and scientific exchange initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain credible relationships with thought leaders, external experts, and internal stakeholders in the aesthetics therapeutic area.
• Provide scientific and medical leadership by delivering compliant presentations and facilitating discussions with healthcare professionals.
• Support internal Sales, Marketing, and Brand teams with scientific updates and technical expertise.
• Identify and prioritize thought leaders for advisory boards, congresses, symposia, and collaborative research activities.
• Gather and synthesize field intelligence, competitor insights, and emerging data to inform cross‑functional decision‑making.
• Attend scientific meetings and congresses, producing concise summaries and actionable insights.
• Assist thought leaders and internal teams with scientific publications and medical communications.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or a related therapeutic area is preferred.
• Background working for a multinational pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, practical messages for diverse audiences.
