Senior Magnetic Engineer

About the role

Flex is seeking a Senior Magnetic Engineer to join its hardware architecture team at the Taipei Wugu site. You will lead the design, simulation, and integration of magnetic components for high‑frequency power products.

Key responsibilities

• Define hardware architecture and product integration concepts.
• Develop specifications, design, and simulate magnetic components such as transformers, buck‑boost inductors, and EMI chokes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to balance cost, performance, and size.
• Support debugging, validation, and production ramp‑up of components.
• Release design and test documentation.
• Conduct new‑technology studies, write technical documents, and protect IP through patents.
• Design high‑frequency main transformers and PFC inductors, and simulate combined assemblies.
• Master material characteristics of Mn‑Zn, Ni‑Zn, and powder cores.
• Create new samples using advanced machinery and processes.
• Manage raw‑material and magnetic‑part suppliers, monitor quality, and audit supplier processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in magnetic component design (e.g., power transformers, inductors, EMI chokes).
• Strong understanding of iron‑core material grades and their application suitability.
• Familiarity with design calculations, simulation tools, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of safety regulations for magnetic components.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing; oral English is a plus.
