Director, Power Engineering

About the role

Flex is seeking an experienced Director of Power Engineering to lead the development of next‑generation high‑power supplies at its Taipei Wugu site. You will shape a 3‑5 year technology roadmap, drive proof‑of‑concept projects, and deliver working prototypes that support data‑center power solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain a 3‑5 year technology roadmap aligned with market trends and business goals.
• Develop best‑in‑class high‑power switching power supplies for data‑center applications, including power shelves and racks.
• Research and implement advanced magnetics, materials, device topologies, and firmware algorithms to maximize efficiency and size.
• Perform schematic, magnetics, and thermal simulations and translate results into fully functional prototypes.
• Support product design teams with design reviews, issue resolution, and technology transfer to mass production.
• Collaborate with suppliers, industry workgroups (e.g., CPES, IEEE), marketing, and senior executives to showcase technology.
• Provide regular updates to the VP of Engineering and share knowledge across internal teams.

Required profile

• More than 15 years of experience in power electronics, specifically high‑power solutions for servers and data‑centers.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex hardware projects.
• Strong communication skills for presenting technology to customers, partners, and executives.
