Senior Full Stack Engineer - RISC-V Developer Tools

About the role

SiFive, which introduced RISC-V to the world, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python, Django, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern cloud/container ecosystems. You will own the end-to-end design and implementation of SiFive's developer tooling, including the Visual Studio Code plugin and the backend REST APIs and microservices behind the SiFive Core Designer (SCD) platform, working closely with the SCD core engineering team, backend architects and silicon design engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services with Python and Django, and optimize relational database schemas and SQL queries.
• Integrate backend services with core IP generation engines and build containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build the VS Code extension with TypeScript and JavaScript, implementing state management and data synchronization with the backend APIs.
• Write clean, documented code, set up automated unit, integration and contract tests, and take part in code reviews and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
• Collaborate with product management, silicon architects, QA and customer support, and mentor team members on backend architecture and API contracts.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of production full-stack experience.
• Excellent verbal and written English for a globally distributed team.
• Nice to have: VS Code extension or IDE plugin experience, cloud platforms (AWS, S3, ECS/EKS) and Kubernetes, hardware description languages (Verilog/Chisel) or RISC-V knowledge, and Agile/Scrum experience.
