Senior Engineer – Filling, Packout & Assembly (3PM)

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead filling, packout and assembly activities for third‑party manufacturers (3PM) across Asia. The role combines technical support, process improvement and supplier management to ensure product quality, cost efficiency and compliance with 3M standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier engagement for new product introductions (NPIs) from scale‑up to launch.
• Manage low‑risk and high‑risk CMP activities, driving workload with suppliers.
• Conduct new supplier assessments, onboarding, and day‑to‑day operational support.
• Ensure supplier compliance with EHS, GFS and corporate audit guidelines.
• Execute supplier EHS and process audits, and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee fixed‑asset and waste‑disposal management, packaging standards and product specification delivery.
• Create and update BOMs in SAP, support SKU creation and capital projects.
• Address customer complaints, DPPM reduction and capacity reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot SAP ECC, EWM, SNC and Fiori transactional processes, train subcontractor personnel and implement fixes.
• Drive lead‑time reduction, raw‑material yield improvement, cost‑of‑poor‑quality (COPQ) reduction and overall cost‑of‑goods‑sold (COGS) initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in 3PM operations and process management.
• Strong project‑management and communication skills to coordinate with global and local teams.
• Vendor‑management, financial and statistical analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of value‑stream mapping (VSM) and continuous improvement (CI) methodologies.
• Relevant technical education or equivalent experience.
