Senior EMC Engineer – Commercial Desktop

About the role

The Senior EMC Engineer will lead multiple project teams and own the end‑to‑end electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design, validation and certification for desktop, gaming, workstation, mini‑PC and commercial desktop platforms. As the EMC subject‑matter expert, you will drive risk mitigation, regulatory compliance and product certification throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EMC architecture reviews, schematic and PCB layout evaluations, and define EMC design requirements and methodologies for desktop platforms.
• Assess EMC risk and optimise designs for high‑speed interfaces, power delivery, grounding, shielding, filtering and cable routing.
• Plan, execute and support pre‑compliance testing, certification activities, validation strategies and regulatory submissions.
• Perform EMC troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for emissions, immunity, ESD, EFT and surge issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (EE, SI/PI, mechanical, thermal, BIOS, ODMs, suppliers and certification bodies) to ensure successful product development.
• Provide technical guidance to ODMs and suppliers, review test reports, debug plans and drive issue resolution.
• Serve as EMC technical lead across desktop programs, mentor engineers and promote continuous improvement of EMC methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of EMC engineering experience, preferably on desktop, workstation or gaming PC platforms.
• Strong knowledge of EMC regulations, high‑speed digital design, PCB layout, grounding, shielding and filtering techniques.
• Proven ability to lead compliance testing, certification and root‑cause analysis efforts.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the local language.
