Senior Design and Construction Manager

About the role

Lead the full lifecycle of large‑scale capital construction projects across Asia‑Pacific for a global leader in materials engineering. The role involves direct project leadership, on‑site oversight, and coordination with local contractors, authorities, and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage entitlement, design, construction, commissioning and turnover of multi‑million‑dollar facilities including offices, R&D labs, manufacturing plants and cleanrooms.
• Oversee hazardous‑materials systems integration, ensure compliance with EHS and regional regulations, and navigate permitting and zoning processes.
• Serve as primary liaison between local contractors, vendors, authorities and Applied Materials’ global project leadership.
• Implement robust project controls—cost management, schedule tracking, risk mitigation—and deliver executive‑level reporting.
• Develop regional project pipeline, negotiate scopes and KPIs with third‑party service providers, and contribute to a Design and Construction Center of Excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• 10+ years progressive experience delivering $100M+ capital projects (500,000 sq ft+), preferably across multiple Asia‑Pacific markets.
• Fluent business English; Mandarin a plus.
• Strong executive presence, cross‑cultural stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.

• Quantity Surveying practices – RICS, NEC, AACE.
