Research Scientist – Generative & Agentic AI

About the role

Appier is seeking a Research Scientist to advance the frontiers of generative and agentic AI. You will work on large language models, vision‑language models, and autonomous AI agents that can reason, plan, and use tools to solve real‑world problems. The role blends cutting‑edge research with product impact, offering opportunities to publish at top conferences and collaborate with engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build agentic AI systems that incorporate reasoning, planning, memory, tool use, and multi‑agent collaboration.
• Develop and improve post‑training techniques such as supervised fine‑tuning, RLHF, and verifiable reward learning.
• Enhance performance, efficiency, and scalability of foundation models across training and inference.
• Create rigorous evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for models and agents in realistic scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ship research outcomes into production.
• Monitor frontier research, propose new directions, and publish findings at leading AI/ML venues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with AI/ML research experience.
• Deep understanding of modern foundation models and expertise in at least one area: LLMs, VLMs/multimodal models, reinforcement learning, or agentic systems.
• Hands‑on experience building with LLMs, including fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation, and agent frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose model behavior and optimize training/inference pipelines.
• Clear communication and a collaborative, team‑first attitude.
