Regional Renewable Business Developer - Automation & Communication

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Regional Renewable Business Developer focused on Automation & Communication to drive sales and market penetration across the APAC region. You will work directly with end‑users, developers and decision‑makers to promote Hitachi Energy’s substation protection, control and communication solutions for renewable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales of automation and communication products in the APAC renewable market, including solar, wind and offshore wind projects.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities, especially in offshore wind markets such as South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.
• Lead or support pre‑FEED and FEED studies for offshore wind transmission substation automation and communication solutions.
• Interpret local regulatory and cybersecurity standards, and ensure product localisation meets those requirements.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and global product groups to deliver compliant solutions.
• Promote a Zero‑Harm safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 5‑10 years of business development, sales or project experience in the renewable energy sector, with exposure to offshore wind.
• Hands‑on experience with protection relays, substation automation, control or communication solutions in utilities or power transmission.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
