Member Technical Staff - Material & Process Contamination Control

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Member Technical Staff member for its Material & Process Contamination Control team at its Fab 11 in Taoyuan. The role leads and optimizes material and contamination control strategies to improve process quality, yield and cost efficiency, working across functions on quality control, standardization and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and optimize contamination control processes and technologies to improve detection capability and reduce cost.
• Drive defense strategies for airborne molecular contaminants (AMC), metals and particles, introducing new technologies and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
• Lead FOUP classification and cross-contamination prevention programs, including Sorter/N2LP/Washer equipment management.
• Evaluate and introduce new equipment through demo, head-to-head and TOR processes.
• Improve detection systems such as QT/AMC control strategies to speed up learning cycles and support yield improvement.
• Collaborate with global manufacturing (HVM), technology development (TD) and suppliers to align contamination control roadmaps.
• Manage cross-functional resources to resolve technical gaps and drive projects.
• Contribute to the KEG (Knowledge Exchange Group) and influence DOC2/TOR specifications to include HVM pain points.
• Provide technical leadership to the team, track Fab performance metrics and work with TD and procurement on supplier competitiveness and cost.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Solid background in contamination control, AMC, FOUP management and material defense strategies.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems across departments and use resources effectively.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to lead and coordinate global teams across cultures and time zones.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with Process Integration Engineering, Quality Systems, Production Operations Management and Procurement.
