Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Air Products is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (ME) to lead inspection, repair, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment across its GO‑operated facilities, joint ventures and subsidiaries. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting with coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and supervise inspection, repair, installation and troubleshooting of mechanical assets such as compressors, pumps, expanders, heat exchangers, gearboxes, pipelines and cold boxes.
• Execute SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) tasks, create work orders and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
• Commission new projects and modifications, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and APCI standards.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call support to meet production demands and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with planners and supervisors to define material, method and manpower requirements for daily and major maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in safety trainings, JSA and BSP activities.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience on large ASU/ESG or HyCO facilities.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and respond to operational needs around the clock.
• Strong understanding of safety, health and environmental regulations.

Required skills

• SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) usage.
• Maintenance of reciprocating, centrifugal, diaphragm and rotary compressors.
• Maintenance of centrifugal and vacuum pumps, blowers, gearboxes, pipelines, vessels and cold boxes.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
• Safety procedures such as BSP, JSA and regular safety meetings.
