About the role
The Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer (HSE) will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of QHSE systems across our manufacturing operations. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, drive quality performance and support environmental stewardship.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) systems and practices.
- Develop and maintain quality standards, procedures, inspection criteria and control plans.
- Conduct inspections, process audits, and verification of raw materials, equipment, production processes and finished products.
- Monitor quality performance, non‑conformities, customer complaints and defect trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform HIRARC, workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, identify root causes and follow up on corrective actions.
- Deliver SHE training, toolbox briefings, safety talks and new‑employee safety orientation.
- Ensure contractors and employees comply with company safety requirements and relevant regulations.
- Maintain and update Emergency Response Plans, support emergency, fire and spill drills.
- Oversee proper management and disposal of waste and hazardous substances in line with environmental requirements.
- Maintain QHSE documentation, records and reports, and support OSH Committee activities.
- Collaborate with operations and cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Occupational Safety, Science or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Occupational Safety & Health or Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Class B Occupational Safety & Health Supervisor qualification recognized by Taiwan Ministry of Labor (or higher).
- First‑Aid Personnel certification (or obtainable within 12 months).
- Professional fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Required skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management standards.
- Proficiency with continuous‑improvement tools such as 5‑Why analysis, Fishbone diagram, PDCA cycle and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience with Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRARC) methodologies.
- First‑Aid response capabilities.
