Field Service Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

MKS is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its Rapid Support Team in Taiwan. The engineer provides on-site installation, troubleshooting, training, service and repair of complex equipment and systems, and manages installation and repairs for products used in the semiconductor industry and other key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible customer support through on-site installation, servicing and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Check and approve the operational quality of system equipment and instruct customers on operation and maintenance.
• Act as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
• Learn and follow MKS internal systems, processes and procedures, especially Customer Support guidelines.
• Carry out professional on-site or remote support, close service calls and perform quality installations, preventive maintenance and scheduled troubleshooting.
• Make sound decisions on tools and methods to solve technical problems.
• Report weekly to the direct manager and escalate issues in line with MKS standards.
• Manage spare parts effectively and share knowledge with colleagues through knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Communicate customer needs and competitor activity to management, take on extra assignments and work as a team across divisions and departments.
• Willingness to work in a semiconductor clean room and to rotate jobs or shift duty during RAMP.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, in vacuum or wet etching equipment service.
• Good command of spoken and written English and the local language.
• Customer-oriented, proactive and able to make quick, effective decisions.

Required skills

• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Windows, Word, Excel or other common PC applications.
