Field Application Engineer (FAE) – Customer‑Facing Technical Role

About the role

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer who will act as the technical bridge between Calyx’s AI‑enabled camera and sensor systems and our customers on poultry and swine farms. The role combines hands‑on installation, integration and troubleshooting with customer training and feedback collection.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and test camera and sensor systems at customer sites and ensure stable operation.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support, diagnosing hardware, software and networking issues in field conditions.
• Lead customer training sessions and live product demonstrations.
• Drive system validation, pilot deployments and proof‑of‑concept projects.
• Channel field feedback to engineering and produce deployment documentation and improvement recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, CE, ME, CS) or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts across hardware and networking.
• Professional English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) for international collaboration.
• Clear communicator able to translate technical concepts for engineers and farm operators.
• Self‑driven, adaptable and comfortable working independently on the road.
• Willingness to work in agricultural environments and hold a valid driver’s license with 20‑30% travel.

Required skills

• Experience with IP cameras, embedded systems and industrial sensors.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs and edge computing.
• Hardware, software and networking troubleshooting in field conditions.
