EHS Manager – Environmental Health & Safety Leader

About the role
The EHS Manager leads the Environmental Health & Safety function for Applied Materials in Northern Taiwan, guiding a team of EHS engineers to implement programs that protect employees, customers and the environment in semiconductor and display fabs.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and mentor EHS engineers, ensuring execution of EHS programs and contractor management plans.
- Develop and drive field EHS action plans, monitor performance, and report safety events to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct incident investigations using 8D, HOP and other root‑cause methods, and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain compliance with Taiwan OSHA regulations, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, and ensure all work follows company policies.
- Collaborate with corporate EHS groups, field service teams and customers to resolve critical issues and support continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry, physics, biology, toxicology) or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of EHS experience, including at least 4 years in contractor management and 3 years leading a team.
- Experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing environment (4 years preferred).
- Strong English proficiency (TOEIC 780 or equivalent).
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Taiwan OSHA regulations and EHS best practices.
- Implementation and auditing of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Incident investigation techniques such as 8D, Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and operational learning.
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) development and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and AI‑enabled productivity tools.
- Effective contractor safety management and field safety program execution.
