Data Engineer & Business Data Analyst

About the role

Flexii is scaling its on‑demand work‑matching platform across Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. We are looking for a versatile Data Engineer / Business Data Analyst to own end‑to‑end data capabilities and help drive product improvements and business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform exploratory analysis on user behavior, retention, churn, satisfaction and platform economics; build dashboards in Looker Studio or similar tools.
• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines feeding data from web, mobile and APIs into Google BigQuery; manage schema, partitioning and cost‑optimisation.
• Develop scoring models using NLP, vector embeddings and machine learning to improve job‑worker matching and sentiment analysis.
• Evaluate A/B tests and quasi‑experiments to measure product impact; translate business questions into data queries and actionable recommendations.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and alerting; set up event tracking with Google Analytics or custom solutions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or a closely related role.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast‑growing startup.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL) and hands‑on experience with Google BigQuery.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Airflow.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools: Looker Studio, Tableau or Power BI.
• Hands‑on experience with NLP libraries and vector embeddings (e.g., Gemini API, Hugging Face, scikit‑learn).
• Familiarity with GCP ecosystem, version control (Git) and basic software development concepts.
