Customs & Logistics Operations Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Customs and Logistics Operations Specialist to manage import and export clearance for air and ocean shipments at its Tainan facility. The role ensures compliance with Taiwan customs regulations while supporting the company’s high‑tech equipment supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Handle import and export customs declaration and clearance for air and ocean shipments.
• Prepare and submit various customs documents, including general import/export, bonded cargo, in‑bond/out‑bond, and transfer shipments.
• Manage bonded warehouse and logistics centre customs operations in line with regulations.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal logistics teams to ensure smooth clearance.
• Review and verify shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, and permits.
• Support customs inspections, document amendments, exception handling and follow‑up actions.
• Maintain accurate records, filing and system updates for customs activities.
• Assist with customs audits, AEO/self‑declaration compliance and internal control requirements.

Required profile

• Licensed Customs Declaration Specialist certified by the Ministry of Examination.
• More than 5 years of customs brokerage experience, including independent management of clearance and inspections.
• Hands‑on experience with import/export customs clearance and familiarity with Single Window/EDI systems.
• Solid knowledge of bonded warehouse, bonded factory or logistics centre operations.

Required skills

• Understanding of AEO program and self‑declaration procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Taiwan customs regulations and clearance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret English shipping and customs documents.
