Buyer II – Equipment Product Group (EPG)

About the role

As a Buyer II in the Equipment Product Group (EPG), you will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, machinery, and services that support Applied Materials’ state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities in Tainan. You will work closely with global suppliers and internal cross‑functional teams to ensure a reliable flow of components that enable fast, high‑quality production of semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Proactively drive timely delivery/shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied factories and resolve shipment, receiving, and billing issues.
• Partner with suppliers on demand‑supply collaboration and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and excess & obsolete (E&Z) reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders and RFQs to achieve lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, and program managers, supported by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related purchasing or supply‑chain experience.
• English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 750 or higher.
• Understanding of key industry business drivers (preferred).
• Experience in supplier price negotiations and cost‑reduction initiatives (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information (preferred).
