Backend Developer – FinTech AI Neobank

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Developer to help build the core systems behind BJAK's AI‑powered Neobank app. You will design and maintain reliable APIs and services that power onboarding, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, FX, KYC and risk flows for millions of users across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for core financial products.
• Design systems that support real‑time transactions, operational workflows, and future product extensions.
• Integrate with internal platforms, financial partners, payment providers, AI services and third‑party APIs.
• Own backend quality, including reliability, security, latency, observability, data integrity and incident handling.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile and AI teams to launch features quickly and safely.
• Improve existing systems by simplifying flows, removing manual steps and automating repeatable processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs and event‑driven integration.
• Proven track record delivering services used by real customers or internal operations at scale.
• Mindset focused on debugging, reliability, security and data quality.
• Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability and maintainability.
• FinTech, payments, banking, KYC or fraud experience is a plus but not mandatory.
