Associate Industrial Designer

About the role

Stanley Black & Decker’s Global Tools & Storage division is seeking an Associate Industrial Designer to join its Taiwan Design Center. Reporting to the Hand Tools and Storage Manager, you will work within the Global Customer Experience Industrial Design team, contributing to the design of key brand franchises such as Stanley, Black + Decker, DEWALT, Craftsman, and others.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily industrial design tasks for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with global design leadership and cross‑functional teams to develop compelling design concepts.
• Create sketches, illustrations, and visualizations that communicate advanced industrial design ideas.
• Develop conceptual CAD models and surfacing work to support ideation.
• Participate in field research and new product ideation sessions.

Required profile

• BS/BA or equivalent in Industrial Design.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global teams.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and brand aesthetic standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sketchbook Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, KEYSHOT, and a Wacom tablet.
• Experience in 3D CAD solid and surfacing modeling; CATIA experience is a plus.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
• Exceptional sketching and visualisation abilities.
