Android Developer (Native Mobile)

About the role

BJAK is building an AI‑powered neobank for Southeast Asia. We are looking for an Android engineer to create the native Android experience of our AI Neobank app, focusing on clean user flows, performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship native Android features for onboarding, accounts, cards, payments, transfers, rewards and AI‑assisted journeys.
• Transform complex financial workflows into simple, fast mobile experiences.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend and AI teams to take features from concept to production.
• Own app quality, including performance, crash rate, loading states, edge‑case handling and release stability.
• Use production feedback, analytics and user behavior to iterate and improve features post‑launch.
• Integrate APIs, authentication, secure data handling and financial workflows with a focus on reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering Android apps used by real users.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, Jetpack components, Coroutines and Flow.
• Passion for product quality and user experience, not just UI screens.
• Ability to debug production issues and optimise performance and reliability.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup environment with ambiguous requirements.

• Kotlin programming language.
• Android SDK and native development.
• Jetpack libraries (e.g., Navigation, ViewModel, LiveData).
• Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.
• API integration and secure data handling.
