Senior Staff Software Engineer – Access Point

About the role

Vistance Networks is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced Wi‑Fi Access Point platforms in Taipei. You will drive system‑level initiatives, influence architecture, and work with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality wireless solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of AP firmware and WLAN features on embedded Linux platforms.
• Implement Wi‑Fi security and authentication frameworks such as WPA/WPA3, 802.1x, and SAE‑based flows.
• Develop and integrate authentication and policy flows, including DPSK and RADIUS‑based attributes.
• Ensure consistency across WLAN configurations and per‑client policy overrides.
• Lead debugging and root‑cause analysis of complex roaming, policy, and cross‑platform issues.
• Collaborate with Controller, Cloud, QA, and PM teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably in networking or wireless systems.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ with solid system‑level design knowledge.
• Extensive experience with Linux system development, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and protocol stacks.
• Hands‑on experience with WLAN technologies, 802.11 standards, and security protocols (WPA/WPA3, 802.1x).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system‑level issues.
