Director of Firmware Product Engineering

About the role

Lenovo is seeking a Director to lead its global Product Engineering organization responsible for UEFI customization, BIOS and firmware feature development, and platform engineering across multiple product programs. The role defines strategic direction, operating model, and execution performance for a distributed team of product engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale a global team of product engineers focused on firmware customization, feature development, and platform enablement.
• Set the strategic direction for engineering standards, governance, and long‑term capability development.
• Drive project efficiency through improved planning, dependency management, defect prevention, and milestone readiness.
• Champion AI‑enabled development tools, automation, and analytics to boost productivity and quality.
• Partner with ODMs to improve execution, technical alignment, issue resolution, and delivery quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in product engineering, firmware or platform development, with 5+ years of people‑management in a global organization.
• Proven track record leading complex technology programs across multiple functions, geographies and suppliers.
• Strong ability to influence senior leaders, resolve trade‑offs, and align cross‑functional stakeholders.
