Backend Architect - Pay&Card Tech

About the role

Binance is looking for a Backend Architect to join the Pay&Card team, responsible for designing and building end‑to‑end card‑related systems. You will work closely with product, compliance and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant card issuance and lifecycle solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain backend services for card issuing and lifecycle management.
• Lead technical design and implementation of card certification processes (Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay / Google Pay onboarding).
• Define system architecture, service boundaries and integration patterns for the card platform.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and compliance with payment network standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards and technical documentation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, strong expertise in Java and Spring.
• Direct experience building or maintaining a card system and familiarity with card certification or onboarding programs.
• Proven ability to design distributed, high‑throughput payment infrastructures.
• Understanding of card network standards, payment flows and compliance requirements.
