Software Engineer, Android Connectivity

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer to drive Android device connectivity using Bluetooth technology. You will work on the Better Together and Connectivity domains, focusing on XR experiences and scaling solutions across the Android ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Android Bluetooth Connectivity stack for first‑party and third‑party devices.
• Collaborate with internal, external, and partner teams to define, refine, and scale Bluetooth stack implementations.
• Contribute new features and technologies within the Better Together – Connectivity domain, especially for XR platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 2+ years of software development experience (C++, Java, etc.) or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field; 3+ years of Bluetooth stack development experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ and Java.
• Hands‑on experience with Bluetooth stack development and integration on Android.
• Familiarity with XR platforms and Android system stack.
