Industrial Product Designer – UniFi Protect

About the role

Ubiquiti is seeking an Industrial Product Designer to join the UniFi Protect team. You will be responsible for shaping security cameras and related hardware from concept through mass production, ensuring a seamless physical user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Create cohesive hardware products with strong judgment in form, proportion, CMF, detail, and manufacturability.
• Own the end‑to‑end physical experience, including unboxing, installation, daily use, maintenance, and serviceability across products, accessories, packaging, and Quick Installation Guides.
• Translate product direction, user needs, and technical constraints into clear, actionable design proposals.
• Partner closely with product management, mechanical, electrical engineering, manufacturing, and external suppliers to resolve design and production challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing mass‑produced consumer or enterprise hardware, with a portfolio that includes at least one production‑stage product.
• Ability to turn business direction, user needs, and technical constraints into compelling design proposals.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with 3D CAD.
• Visualization and CMF development.
• Prototyping, DFM analysis, tooling, and production follow‑up.
• Collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
