VP Technology Architect and Cloud Service

About the role

The VP Technology Architect and Cloud Service will lead HSBC's architecture function in Taiwan, ensuring that all technology solutions meet local regulatory requirements and global HSBC standards. This senior position partners with business, cloud, and architecture teams to drive strategic initiatives, improve resilience, and shape the future‑state technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end application architecture reviews, guaranteeing compliance with Taiwan regulations and HSBC standards.
• Conduct External Hosting Committee (EHC) reviews for cloud and outsourcing projects.
• Collaborate with regional and global Architecture and Cloud teams to design and implement strategic technology solutions.
• Support the Taiwan CIO on Future State Architecture, technology road‑maps, and governance.
• Drive application evergreen, legacy system retirement, infrastructure upgrades, and technical resilience initiatives.
• Engage regulators, compliance, business, and transformation teams on regulatory technology requirements.
• Provide architecture guidance for local and global project implementations and regulatory changes.
• Assist budgeting, planning, and governance for infrastructure modernization and technology lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise/application architecture, cloud technologies and solution design.
• Strong knowledge of Taiwan technology regulations, cloud governance, outsourcing regulations and information security.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese.
• Professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Architect, CISSP/CISM or ITIL are a plus.
