Staff Data Analyst (SCM Automation)

About the role

Coupang is expanding in Taiwan and is looking for a pragmatic, results-driven Staff Data Analyst to join its Supply Chain team. The role sits at the heart of demand forecasting and inventory work, helping prevent stockouts and clear excess goods. It is not a back-office reporting position: you build working prototypes, validate ideas quickly, and partner with Demand Planning and Engineering teams to get your solutions into production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Identify weaknesses in supply chain systems and develop practical logic, focusing on demand forecast improvement, out-of-stock and excess inventory attribution models.
• Build rapid proof-of-concepts, such as a root cause analysis dashboard that automatically attributes out-of-stock events to causes like under-forecasting.
• Take part in experimentation design, A/B tests, cohort studies and measuring the effectiveness of product launches.
• Use large language models and prompt engineering to automate unstructured data and speed up analytical workflows.
• Work with Demand Planning and Engineering teams to integrate validated prototypes into core inventory planning systems.
• Own analytics around key supply chain KPIs such as demand forecast accuracy, sell-through and forecast coverage, explaining the why behind the numbers.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role.
• Business-level English fluency and the ability to teach and onboard non-technical business users.
• Preferred: retail, e-commerce and demand forecasting experience, and strong knowledge of statistics and machine learning techniques.

Required skills

• Expert SQL and Python/R for data extraction and manipulation.
• Prompt engineering and use of generative AI tools.
• Data visualization with PowerBI, Tableau or similar.
• Preferred: GitHub, Airflow, Confluence or Notion, and domain expertise in demand forecasting.
