Software Engineer (Anchor) - Machine Learning Algorithms

About the role

KLA's Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) division develops high-performance software platforms for semiconductor manufacturing, including patterning analytics, modeling and data science. This software algorithm engineering position in the Semi PC business unit involves designing machine learning, image processing and IC design analysis algorithms for wafer inspection and metrology applications. The team includes algorithm and software engineers, research scientists, apps engineers and process engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve machine learning training sets and their workflow processes
• Evaluate and improve machine learning model performance, and compare and assess different models
• Evaluate and implement algorithms to improve signal-to-noise ratio from images under varying conditions
• Work with local and global teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Work with product engineering teams to define performance specifications and deliver to them
• Provide technical support during product demos and beta testing, and collaborate with domain experts on customer engagement projects

Required profile

• Ability and passion to create new ideas, analyze complex systems, formulate mathematical solutions and implement machine learning workflows suitable for production
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Domestic or international travel of up to 30%, supporting cross-team projects, customer betas or visits and training in China and the US
• Qualification: Master's degree with 0 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience
