Software Engineer (Anchor)

About the role

KLA’s Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) division is seeking a Software Engineer (Anchor) to develop machine‑learning and image‑processing algorithms for wafer inspection and metrology. You will work with cross‑functional teams to create production‑ready solutions that improve signal‑to‑noise performance and accelerate next‑generation chip manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve machine‑learning training sets and associated workflow processes.
• Assess and enhance machine‑learning model performance across diverse image conditions.
• Compare and benchmark various machine‑learning models to select optimal approaches.
• Develop and implement algorithms that increase signal‑to‑noise ratio from noisy images.
• Collaborate with local and global teams throughout all product‑lifecycle phases.
• Define performance specifications with product engineering and deliver compliant solutions.
• Provide technical support during product demos, beta testing, and customer engagement projects.
• Work with domain experts from other functional teams to address customer requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to generate new ideas, analyze complex systems, formulate mathematical solutions and implement practical machine‑learning workflows for production.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 30 % internationally for cross‑team collaboration, beta programs, and training.
