Service Manager

About the role

Supermicro is seeking a talented service engineer to play a key role in providing high‑level customer service, supporting the global service network and helping build a world‑class field engineering organization. The position requires flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to respond to customer requests, diagnose problems, travel to sites and repair or replace defective equipment.

Key responsibilities

• On‑site troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical problems on Supermicro equipment in enterprise environments.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, manage repair/parts cycle times and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide 2nd‑line support to resellers and distributors, and develop service kits and tools.
• Travel to field sites to train customers or resolve issues, and run tests/simulations at the facility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience with server hardware, GPU systems, data‑center equipment and enterprise infrastructure support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for servers, motherboards, memory, storage, NICs, power, BIOS, BMC and firmware.
• Willingness to travel, work flexible hours and lift at least 50 lb.

Required skills

• Server hardware and GPU system expertise.
• Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• BIOS, UEFI Shell, PXE and firmware update procedures.
• Basic network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AI/HPC infrastructure, rack‑scale and liquid‑cooling systems.
