Service Manager II – MDP (M2)

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Service Manager II (M2) to lead customer service operations in Hsinchu, Taiwan. You will drive innovative solutions, manage a team of engineers and ensure high‑quality support for semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships across the district at all levels.
• Manage, coach and direct customer engineers, including salary planning, career development and performance appraisals.
• Serve as the primary interface with product divisions for technical support, training, spares and reliability.
• Oversee account planning with the District Sales Engineer and provide support plans for system sales.
• Responsible for financial forecasting, cost efficiency and achieving financial results for the district.
• Plan and execute system installations, including pre‑facility and start‑up meetings.
• Manage RMA procedures and monitor engineer performance, hours tracking and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Understanding of procedures within the job family and basic knowledge of related families.
• Business expertise to improve team efficiency and collaborate with related areas.
• Formal supervisory responsibilities with the ability to set priorities and coach employees.
• Judgment to resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Impact on quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team and business unit.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues with customers, vendors or suppliers.
