Senior Test Engineer, Hardware Compute Group

About the role

Amazon Devices is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead silicon testing and yield improvement for next‑generation machine‑learning enabled consumer products. You will work closely with OSAT partners to bring new System‑on‑Chip (SoC) designs from first silicon through high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform first‑silicon debug together with design and OSAT test engineers.
• Define test program flows and methods to achieve comprehensive test coverage.
• Finalize wafer‑sort and final test programs supporting mass production.
• Analyze engineering‑sample yield, characterize NPI performance, and drive corrective actions.
• Identify root‑cause solutions using statistical data analysis and failure‑analysis techniques.
• Transfer product knowledge to OSAT sustaining engineers and manage early‑stage test contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor digital design, test, or product engineering for complex SoCs.
• Hands‑on experience with multiple ASIC projects and high‑volume SoC introductions.
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Automated Test Equipment (ATE) expertise – J750 and Advantest 93K preferred.
• Deep understanding of the SOC development cycle and new product introduction (NPI) processes.
• Semiconductor digital design and test engineering.
• Statistical data analysis and failure‑analysis techniques.
• Chip design background – circuit/physical design, timing closure, power analysis.
• Silicon debug and yield analysis.
